My little kitchen helper!šŸŖ Making @therealfoodrds healthy peanut butter buckeyesšŸ˜‹ She lasted about 15 minutes happy watching šŸ˜‚ She likes to be up in the action! Totally mesmerized by the kitchenaid mixer.
Solid food updateā£ļø Annella is now 6.5 months old (crazy how the time has flown!) and we have been having fun with solids. The first food we introduced was peanut butter as research is showing peanuts should be introduced between 4-6 months. She loved it (just like her momma!) We used @costco organic peanut butter with just peanuts and salt. I’ve gone back and forth between baby led weaning and purĆ©ed foods. Annella is pretty strong willed and independent. She likes to do things herself, so baby led weaning works really well for her. I started with mashed sweet potato and avocado. šŸ„‘While it doesn’t always reach her mouth, she definitely has fun with it! Other foods I have introduced: wild caught salmon flakes, ground beef (chopped well), bits of fried egg yolk/white and mashed banana. My husband has a fish allergy so we wanted to introduce that early! We’ve also fed her purĆ©ed chicken, purĆ©ed carrots, purĆ©ed butternut squash and applesauce. Her favorite food so far has been bananašŸŒ The most important thing I’ve learned so far with solid food introduction is to make it fun! Your kiddos just want to be involved in what you are doing, so let them join in. If it’s going to be a fast meal, we don’t go through the hassle of trying a solid with Annella and I don’t stress about it. I also haven’t worried about limiting to one new food every couple of days. Thankfully, she hasn’t shows any signs of an allergy. If she did, I’d be more cautious about this and introduce one new food every 4-7 days. By the way, this high chair from @ikeausa is the best! It’s super easy to clean which is the biggest plus for us. #solidfood #6monthsold #babyledweaning
Paleo cinnamon raisin bread with a little cream cheese and sprinkle of cinnamon🄯 This toast is also delicious with butter, peanut butter and/or banana.šŸŒ It’s the perfect addition to a protein at breakfast or lunch. It’s also a great snack to have on hand or take with to work (if you’ve got a toaster there)! You can find @barelybread on amazon.com #barelybread #barelybreadambassador #ad
I am back to work at the clinic but am loving coming home to this sweetheart!🄰 There are definitely pros and cons to working full time with a child at home. Some days are harder to leave her in the morning than others. If you’re going back to work or school soon after baby, my heart is with you! I understand more now how parents can love on their kids without them understanding.ā¤ļø #workingmoms #dietitian #3monthsold
Our sweet Annella Faye Snyder was born 4.26.2019 at 6 lb 9 oz and 19.5 inches long. She’s already a week old! We are so thankful for God’s Provisions and that He has blessed us with such a sweet girl! Annella (aa-NEHLLaa) means grace/favor which is the same meaning as Hannah (my nameā˜ŗļø). Faye is my middle name as well as my grandma’s.šŸ’— My favorite moment this week was my husband coming home with $20 worth of bows because he couldn’t not go crazy in Claire’s šŸ˜‚
Lactation Smoothies!ā˜ŗļøšŸ¼šŸ“ My husband and I are full on nesting as we prepare for our little one to arrive! I decided to make some lactation smoothies to have something on hand when I’m in a pinch. Hope you can enjoy these great smoothies too! Mango Smoothie Ingredients: 1/3 cup Greek yogurt, plain 2/3 cup frozen mango 2 T ground flaxseed 1 tsp stevia extract 1/4 tsp cinnamon 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1/2 cup ice cubes Place everything but the almond milk and ice cubes into a freezer safe, zip loc bag. Place in freezer until ready to consume. To make it: Add all of the ingredients to the blender, starting with the milk. Cover and blend on high until smooth, stopping and scraping the sides as needed, about 30 seconds. If too thick, add another splash of milk. Sprinkle with additional cinnamon before serving, if you wish. Macros: 220 kcal/8 g fat/28 g carb/10 g dietary fiber/15 g sugar/13 g protein This next two smoothies would work well as meal replacements or you could have half of a smoothie as a snack! Keep the remaining in the fridge for next time šŸ™‚ Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients: 1/2 banana, large 1/2 cup strawberries, whole, frozen 1/4 cup steel cut oats (I like Bob’s red mill) 1 T peanut butter, creamy 1 T flaxseed, ground 1 scoop whey protein powder, vanilla (~20 g protein per scoop) 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk Place everything but the almond milk into a freezer safe, zip loc bag. Place in freezer until ready to consume. To make it: Add all of the ingredients to the blender, starting with the milk. Cover and blend on high until smooth, stopping and scraping the sides as needed, about 30 seconds. If too thick, add another splash of milk. Enjoy! 1 serving macros: 500 kcal/17 g fat/59 g carb/12 g dietary fiber/13 g sugar/34 g protein 2 serving macros: 250 kcal/8.5 g fat/29.5 g carb/6 g dietary fiber/6.5 g sugar/17 g protein Banana Oatmeal Smoothie Ingredients: 1/2 banana, large 1/4 cup steel cut oats (Bob’s red mill) 1 T peanut butter 1 tsp maple syrup 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon 1 scoop whey protein powder, vanilla (~20 G protein) 3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 1/2 cup ice cubes Same directions as abov
